Fire Valley

A new venture in the West Kootnay Region, BC

Partnered with Arrow Lakes Alliance Church, Fire Valley new venture is launching in Fauquier, BC, a community of 120 people located in the West Kootenay Region. Led by Steve Gascon, and supported by the elders and members of Arrow Lakes Alliance church, Fire Valley’s vision is to see a thriving Christian community bringing the word of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ to the communities of Fauquier, Burton, Needles and Edgewood.

After the closure of the only nearby church in 2018, a season of prayer began about how to reach the community with the gospel. God answered prayers when Wendy Smith moved to the area in 2022 and was burdened by the Lord to bring the gospel to her neighbours around her. After leading a bible study, there was a desire for something more, a church, in their community. On September 17, 2023, the first service of the Arrow Lakes Christian Community (now Fire Valley New Venture) was celebrated at the Fauquier Community Center. Since then, the group has met every third Sunday of the month for a worship service and meets all other Sundays for Bible Study.

Prayer Requests

You are invited to join the leadership team in praying for the following: 1. For God to bless each person who comes to the Fire Valley church or is considering it and for God to reveal the truth to them in His word, inspire them to come again and that people will be excited to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. 2. That God's grace would lead the group in reaching out to those hurt and broken, those without Jesus. 3. For the light of the Gospel to shine brightly in an area that is spiritually dark. 4. For energy, wisdom, direction and passion for those leading and participating.
