Discipleship Administrator
Overview:
The Discipleship Administrator provides essential administrative and organizational support for the church’s discipleship initiatives, including but not limited to Pastoral Residency programs, classes, and speaker series. This role ensures smooth coordination, communication, and event planning to enhance spiritual growth and leadership development within the congregation. The role also assists with growth initiatives, such as multi-site development.
The compensation for this part-time position is based on experience, with an hour rate ranging from $19 to $22 dollars an hour. This role includes weekday in-office hours with occasional weekend commitments.
Church Size: 1500 +
Position Status: Part Time, 20 hours/week
Reports to: Discipleship and Leadership Development Pastor
Works closely with: Discipleship Team
Candidate Profile:
Skills and Qualifications
- Spiritually and emotionally mature Christian
- Strong oral and written communication skills are necessary.
- Attention to detail with strong administrative skills
- Proficient with computers
- Experience with Planning Centre Online and Google Workspace or similar church management and organizational system/software
- Demonstrated success in the recruitment and leadership of volunteer teams
- Ability to troubleshoot when complications arise and offer creative and strategic solutions
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
- Creative, highly-organized, and effectively manage multiple priorities and assignments
- Self-initiating, seek ways to improve and make systems more efficient to bring projects to completion
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Preferred Bachelor's degree in related area of study
Primary Responsibilities
- Pastoral Residency Support: Assist in coordinating residency programs, tracking progress, and managing schedules for pastoral trainees
- Class Administration: Organize discipleship classes, maintain attendance records, and ensure materials are prepared
- Speaker Series Coordination: Schedule guest speakers, handle logistics, and promote events
- Growth Initiatives: work closely with related staff to coordinate and administer multi-site development
- Administrative Tasks: Handle scheduling, correspondence, and documentation for ministry activities
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate participant records and engagement data for discipleship programs
- Other duties as assigned
