Associate Pastor of Student Ministries
Overview:
This full-time position is responsible for the oversight and development of volunteers and ministry initiatives for the Children’s and Youth Ministries (age 6 mos. – 18 yrs). At Beaverlodge Alliance Church we are focused on the deeper life and mission and desire to build a student ministry which emphasizes the right-now ministry of the Holy Spirit in and through people of all ages. While this role encompasses both children and youth, there is a particular focus on creating a dynamic and engaging environment for children’s ministry, fostering a strong foundation from an early age.
General Duties:
• Vision casting, goal setting, and implementation of ministry plans for children and youth.
• Recruiting, equipping, and training of volunteers.
• Other pastoral responsibilities in partnership with the broader pastoral team
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Children’s Ministry (35%):
• Lead, develop, and implement a vision for children’s ministry (ages 6 months-Grade 6) that aligns with the overall vision of BAC.
• Equip and mentor volunteers to create a nurturing and spiritually enriching environment for children.
• Oversee curriculum selection and ensure biblically sound, engaging, and age-appropriate materials.
• Foster connections with parents, providing resources and support to empower them as primary spiritual influencers.
• Organize regular children’s ministry events that encourage faith development and family participation.
Youth Ministry (25%):
• Provide spiritual leadership and oversight for the youth ministry (Grades 7-12).
• Engage youth in spiritual growth, discipleship, and service opportunities.
• Develop and support volunteer leaders, encouraging mentorship relationships with students.
• Collaborate with parents to create a supportive community that fosters youth spiritual development.
Pastoral Care (20%):
• Provide pastoral care and spiritual guidance to children, youth, parents, and volunteers.
• Meet with members of the body for counseling, equipping, and encouragement.
• Perform weddings, funerals, and other pastoral duties as needed.
• Participate in staff meetings.
Personal Development (10%):
• Maintain a regular devotional life and spiritual growth through personal prayer and study.
• Participate in weekly small groups and pursue annual conferences or retreats for professional and spiritual development.
Miscellaneous (10%):
• Collaborate with the pastoral team in implementing the overall vision and strategies of BAC.
• Use specific talents and abilities as needed or desired within the church.
• Preach and teach when called upon.
Reporting Relationships
- Reports to the Lead Pastort
- Oversees volunteers in all student ministries
- Works alongside Executive Pastor
Successful Candidates will:
- Be a leader of leaders, committed to equipping others for ministry
- Demonstrate evident of living in renewal, walking deeper with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit exemplifying the fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit modelled by humility, vulnerability, accountability and honesty
- Exhibit a passion for both children and youth
- Be or become licensed and ordained with the Alliance
- Hold a BA or equivalent
- Collaborate effectively within a team, supporting and respecting others
Wage:
- $48,000-$56,000 (salary commensurate with experience)
