Pine Ridge Family Church - Lead Pastor
Pine Ridge Family Church (PRFC) is a multi-generational, 120 person growing community of believers nestled between the towns of Pembroke and Petawawa in the scenic Ottawa Valley. We believe our mission as a church is to become a community of Christ followers who strive to look like Christ, lead people to Christ and equip them to do same.
The towns of Pembroke and Petawawa are growing communities of approximately 15,000 and 18,000 respectively. The area is known for its agricultural farmland, healthcare services, nuclear technology and connection to the Canadian Armed Forces. It is a gateway to the Canadian Shield and Algonquin Park.
Pine Ridge Family Church is seeking a full-time, permanent Lead Pastor to provide spiritual and executive leadership to our church in collaboration with the Elders Board. The successful candidate must have a strong, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ, be a teacher who strongly adheres to God’s word, possesses strong interpersonal relational skills, values family ministries, seeks church unity, has a passion for global and local missions, and has demonstrated the ability to provide visionary leadership.
The ideal candidate is someone who:
- Is an effective and compelling communicator of God’s Word, able to accurately communicate the truths of the Bible in such a way that people understand;
- Oversees the planning and preparation for the weekly service(s) as well as key ministries;
- Actively cultivates a culture of fellowship and belonging within the congregation, creating opportunities for meaningful connection across all ages and life stages;
- Is able to equip and empower the congregation to effectively live out the gospel;
- Is a collaborative team player with a servant heart;
- Pursues unity in Christ and leads with both conviction and grace through seasons of growth and cultural challenge, keeping the church anchored to God's purposes;
- Has good organizational and administrative skills along with an ability to develop healthy staff and volunteer teams to achieve ministry goals;
- Believes in the effectiveness of strategic planning and is able to develop and implement action-oriented plans for new outreach opportunities, excess church property, etc;
- Champions children and youth ministry as a core expression of PRFC’s church mission and actively supports families in raising the next generation of disciples; and
- approaches the Sunday gathering with intentionality and reverence, stewarding corporate worship as a sacred opportunity for the congregation to encounter God
In addition to the Lead Pastor, PRFC currently has a Children’s Ministry Director and Church Administrator on staff.
Performance Measurement
The successful Lead Pastor will be evaluated on a regular basis with the following performance measurement outcomes being considered along with other criteria as identified by the Elder’s Board.
Executive Leadership
1. Aid in developing and executing a strategic plan;
2. Ensure that all ministries are focused with well-defined goals and objectives;
3. A team of unified volunteers and staff;
4. A congregation that is energized to follow God;
5. Visible ministry development both internally and within the community; and
6. Attendance at General Assembly and the District Conference.
Spiritual Leadership
1. Biblical teaching and theological insight from the pulpit is helping the congregation to apply biblical truth to their lives;
2. Ensure that Bible based resources are available for all age levels and programs and is being used to bring people to a deeper spiritual maturity;
3. A congregation increasingly rooted in Scripture and visibly growing in their commitment to live as disciples of Christ; and
4. A measurable increase in the numbers of those discipling and those who are being discipled.
Relational Leadership
1. Encouraging, developing and releasing the Elder’s Board in their primary objective to shepherd the congregation;
2. Fostering an environment of congregational connectedness and unity; and
3. A congregation that experiences genuine fellowship and community, evidenced by growing participation in small groups, church volunteering, and social gatherings.
Personal Leadership
1. Measurable goals for personal spiritual development;
2. Clearly established relationship with a suitable mentor;
3. Healthy and balanced lifestyle;
4. An increasing number of healthy relationships within the congregation; and
5. A family that is active in the life of PRFC.
Qualifications
1. Accreditation
- Bachelor’s degree in theological or related studies with additional post-graduate level studies preferred;
- Minimum five (5) years experience in pastoral ministry an asset;
- Has references from previous boards or church staff, including from most recent positions; and
- Fully accredited with the Christian & Missionary Alliance in Canada or willing to promptly engage with obtaining accreditation.

- As a Spiritual Leader, your relationship with Christ is a central priority and it is evident in how you lead and interact with others. You discern God’s voice and walk in surrendered obedience to Him. The fruit of your faith is attractive and inspires others to deepen and mature in their walk with God;
- You possess high personal and professional integrity with the willingness and ability to earn respect and trust that support your call to ministry;
- Models healthy personal relationships and community involvement; and
- Models meekness and humility.
3. Competence
- Is a committed student of the Word;
- A student of strong doctrine who will not compromise doctrinal truths due to cultural norms;
- A strong preacher and teacher;
- Ability to lead the Elder’s Board and Congregation in the development of a Biblical vision and mission;
- Approachable and accessible; and
- Capable in the understanding, development and mentoring of spiritual leadership.
