Southview Church is a large, multi-ethnic, multi-generational church located in Calgary’s deep south, with a passion for leading people to know and follow Jesus. There is a long legacy of seeing people transformed by the life changing news of Jesus and propelled forward on mission – both locally and globally. We are passionate about making disciples in our church, in our community, and around the world. We dream of seeing our people living in unity with one another, growing in their faith, serving and caring for others, and telling the story of who Jesus is wherever God has uniquely positioned them.
This role is ideal for a leader who is passionate about helping children and families encounter Jesus by developing a vibrant, engaging, and life-giving Children’s Ministry that fosters spiritual growth, meaningful connection, and lasting faith foundations.
What you get to do:
- Build and Lead Southview’s Children’s Ministry – Provide strategic leadership for Children’s Ministry by developing and implementing a ministry plan that reflects Southview’s mission, advances its vision, and fosters intentional discipleship among children and families.
- Develop and Lead Weekend Ministry Strategies – Develop and lead a welcoming, engaging, and life-giving weekend ministry experience for children and their families that fosters spiritual growth and meaningful connection. Ensure all ministry environments are safe, secure, and inviting by maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures and creating classrooms that are both engaging for children and reassuring for parents.
- Oversee Southview’s Pathways for new families – Develop and implement strategies that create clear and accessible pathways for families to connect with Southview and grow in their faith journey. This includes leading outreach initiatives, discipleship opportunities, family-focused events, and programs such as Summer Day Camps that foster meaningful engagement with both the church community and the broader community.
- Engage in Developing Volunteer Care and Oversight– Cultivate a ministry culture that attracts, equips, and empowers volunteers to serve with passion, confidence, and effectiveness.
- Other ministry opportunities– Actively participate in pastoral team meetings and contribute to leadership development initiatives that equip and empower those who call Southview home to grow in their ability to lead and influence others. Attend Board of Elders meetings as requested and contribute to the overall leadership and direction of the church.
Who you are:
