Description

Partner with faith communities and organizations to assess, implement and engage in holistic community health, relief and development and outreach, promote Sudanese leadership, foster spiritual conversations, and collaborate internationally—while maintaining strong accountability to team and Canadian supporters.


Responsibilities

  1. In partnership with the Sudanese faith community, Christian NGOs and parachurch organizations, perform community health and needs assessment. Based on those results:
    • Develop and implement relief and development projects including spiritual conversations and gospel proclamation among the Sudanese diaspora of North Africa.
    • Help implement and improve existing strategies to reach Sudanese diaspora including community engagement initiatives.
    • Monitor and assess projects and strategies for accountability and improvement, with the goal of full Sudanese leadership and ownership or termination of ineffective or unsustainable projects and strategies.
  2. In coordination with leadership of the Sudanese faith community, provide support and contribute to the work and ministry of the North Africa Sudanese faith community.
  3. Pursue partnership and engage in collaborative work with other orgs and international workers engaged in reaching out to the North Africa Sudanese diaspora.
  4. Be accountable to the North Africa Team leadership and send regular reports and updates to supporting churches and constituency back in Canada.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Bible College
  • Seminary
  • Technical | Trade
  • Other: Community Health Evangelism (CHE). International relief and development. Project management. Evangelism (as many different models, Orality training, Alpha, Al Massira, etc.), Discipleship, (Disciple Making Movement or DMM training) Church Planting Training, Community Engagement Training, Trauma care/counselling, Practical training skills such as community health, public health, nutrition, education, teaching English as an additional language


Preferred Experience

Church ministry experience in variety; para church/org experience, Church planting, Counselling, Community engagement experience (outreach, community development, refugee support, etc.), familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
