Description

Prayer is our most significant strategy. It is here we learn how God wants us to engage with local people around us who are interested in discovering Jesus. Walking alongside nationals who are noble-hearted God-seekers, is the best use of our time. Discipleship of these dear ones happens with time proven relationships, both after and before their commitment to Jesus Christ. Local church fellowships play a critical role in the development of local believers. None of us can stand alone. Cooperating with the local church is a must if we are to see individual believers thrive and the church grow.

Responsibilities

1. WORKPLACE

In the workplace: Duties and expectations in the work force vary widely but prospective employees must expect longer work hours than are typical in Canada. Contracts are negotiated individually including number of hours required with considerations of government requirements to support a work visa and residence permit. Relationships with colleagues and supervisors in the work environment are the primary “mission field”. Excellence in the workplace is expected. Cultural differences, therefore, need to be met with grace, a willingness to adapt and a can-do attitude. Opportunities exist in a wide range of fields, particularly in the oil industry and infrastructure development. Universities also look for experienced professionals to join their faculties. These educational positions would require a master’s degree in the field of expertise and a minimum of two years’ experience.

2. EVANGELISM

• In relationships with individuals, families, & communities – predominantly in the workplace by planning for and initiating spiritual conversations and times of prayer.
• Invite colleagues and friends into a relationship with Jesus

3. DISCIPLESHIP

• One-on-one, in cohorts or with families or by connecting new believers with other mature believers who can disciple them into maturity.

4. PRAYER STRATEGY

• Personal prayer, team prayer and monthly communication of prayer needs and work to home-based supporters

5. RECRUITMENT & MOBILIZATION STRATEGY

• Help recruit other Teammates from the home base as opportunities arise.

6. TEAMING * Participate in team meetings and other activities.

• Help plan, organize, and facilitate Team events (regular meetings, socials, prayer times, etc.)
• Assist, and when requested by the Team Leader, manage the Team finances (e.g. reimbursement claims, development of the annual budget, etc.)

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• Master’s Degree

Required Qualifications

• Two years + experience in your professional field.
• Current licensing/credentials in good standing as applicable to profession as required in the homeland.
• Familiarity and/or Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other Office-specific software
• Experience in outreach and evangelism
• Experience in discipleship of both seekers and believers, familiarity with materials

Preferred Qualifications

• Bible College
• Other: Bible training is in addition to the minimum master’s degree in a professional field of study.

Preferred Experience

• Cross-cultural relationship
• Ministry experience including exposure & engagement in various church ministries
• Participation in Soul Care and Deliverance ministry.
• Previous engagement in missions i.e. member of short-term team.
