Discerning Your Call: Pastoral Ministry in the 21st Century

July 11, 2025

New Ventures

As we look ahead to the future, it is undeniable that we face complex times. The need for leaders who are confident in their call and equipped to lead the church is critical.

Also, to reach new people and to minister in new places, we have to think in new ways!

This course—in partnership with New Ventures, The St. Lawrence District of The Alliance Canada, and Ecole de Théologie Évangélique du Québec (ETEQ) affiliated with The Alliance Canada, and Faculté Université Laval —intends to guide new and emerging leaders to discern their calling, develop their character and form a robust theology of leadership that includes a deeply formed biblical ecclesiology. This first pilot class is part of a future collective of courses designed to give our leaders a strong foundation as they prepare to engage with the challenges and opportunities of the current and future culture around us.

Domenic Ruso, Ph.D., has unique experience as a pastor, professor and New Venture leader in Quebec and will teach this first pilot class. He inspires students to ask good questions about faith in a secular culture, to reimagine new paradigms and to take seriously the challenges of a Post-Christian world.

Join Professor Ruso and emerging leaders from across Canada as we reflect on complex questions and explore new ways to follow Jesus' lead and live a life of ministry in a Post Christian culture.
